Summer 2018 Wedding Color Trends

Summer 2018 Wedding Color Trends

It’s March, and if you’re lucky, you’re seeing the faint signs of spring on the horizon. That means your summer wedding is getting closer, and it’s time to settle on just the right color palette. Check out some of the color combos that will be popular for summer’s upcoming nuptials— and then choose a palette that speaks to your personality as a couple.

Fuchsia and Bright Blue

There’s nothing that says “summer” like a bright, beautiful blue! It’s the blue of a lake on a cloudless day, or the blue of the sky over the beach on a sunny afternoon. Couple your favorite shade of vivid blue with fuchsia, and throw in some pale pink or light purple as an accent hue.

Dusty Rose and Navy Blue

For a more subdued palette that is rich with elegance and charm, select navy blue and dusty rose as your two main colors. These soft hues are perfect for a romantic wedding at a gorgeous venue. For variety and depth, add in complementary shades like champagne, burgundy, and soft green.

Marigold and Poppy Red

Are you hosting a vibrant fiesta-style wedding? Poppy red and marigold are two complementary hues that invite energy and joy. Poppies, anemones, and zinnias carry these colors naturally, so you’ll find plenty of seasonal blooms to use. Complement these colors with bright summer greens in the form of foliage, glassware, and accessories.

Pastel Pink, Soft Gray, and Green

In 2017, neutrals were hot for weddings, and 2018 takes the trend even further with refreshing, soft hues. Combine light gray with muted green and pale pink for a lovely, cool wedding color palette, the perfect counterbalance to the hot summer weather. If you’re craving a pop of color, throw in a richer pink here and there.

Black, White, and Gold

Black is back, and its hotter than ever. The crisp, clean look of black and white is timeless, yet modern, with an edge that appeals to the 2018 bride. Add luxurious gold accents to this classy color palette for a truly show-stopping combination that your guests will love and remember. You can also incorporate cream-colored accessories and decor to complement the stark white, bold black, and gorgeous gold hues.

Red, Peach, and Cream

Peaches and cream— it sounds delicious, and it looks even better— especially when you boost the impact with some vivid red accents. Think cream-colored blooms, summer strawberries, and bridesmaids’ dresses in light peach tones! Have the groom and his buddies don navy blue suits with strawberry-hued or peach-colored lapel flowers, and you’ve got a winning color combination.
