5 Last-Minute To-Dos for Your Upcoming Nuptials

5 Last-Minute To-Dos for Your Upcoming Nuptials

With the summer in full swing, there are countless couples all over the U.S. gearing up for their wedding days, and after months of extensive planning, it may seem like everything on your to-do list is out of the way. However, weddings are a huge event that will take up your time long after you walk down the aisle, and these last few weeks before your special day are the perfect opportunity to tackle your lingering pre- and post-wedding obligations. Here are a few ideas to keep in mind from the experts at Nanina’s in the Park!

  1. Thank You letters

If you have an online gift registry, chances are you’ve already had a few of your registry items delivered to your home, while some guests will choose to bring their gifts to the wedding. Do yourself a favor and tackle these thank you cards now! After you come back from your honeymoon and transition to married life, the last thing you’ll want to deal with is a seemingly endless stack of thank you notes to fill out. Get and head start and do as many as you can now!

  1. Break in those wedding shoes

Let’s face it, the perfect pair of heels or a sharp pair of dress shoes will certainly look the part on your big day, but heading into this active day in brand new footwear could leave your dogs barking at the end of the night! In the days and weeks preceding the wedding, wear your wedding shoes around the house to lightly break them in and help them conform to your feet in time for the ceremony.

  1. Get a final head count

By now you will have received just about every RSVP from your guests, so this is a perfect time to take a final head count. This will be helpful not only for you but your vendors and the wedding venue to accommodate everyone equally when your big day arrives.

  1. Tips?

Tipping everyone from bartenders to altar servers at your ceremony to wedding drivers is customary to thank them for a job well done. Prepare ahead of time by putting some cash aside to tip the vendors and other staff who will come together to make your nuptials a reality.

  1. One last fitting

Ever heard the rumor that you may lose 5 pounds before your wedding day arrives just out of excitement? It’s true, and since we’re all a ball of emotions before such a big event, our weight can fluctuate and it’s a good rule of thumb to go for a last-minute dress or suit fitting 2 weeks before the day arrives. This will ensure that you have time for any alterations to ensure you look your best!
